I like the whole idea of a group of players being pulled into a RPG and Bevan does an excellent job of staying true the personality of the player and the character he chose to play and is now stuck as. I like the short stories, but they are like having a snack, nice, but I am ready for a tasty meal. The potty humor might offend some. I find it funny and oddly, refreshing....which makes me odd, I suppose. With gaming, you often play a stereotype....so yeah, the dude with low charisma and intelligence is going to be crude. Despite this, I like all the characters, regardless. If this is your first jaunt into Caverns and Creatures, I strongly recommend the books. If not, and you are a fan, I suggest we bombard Bevan with requests for more books.Product details

More eclectic fantasy gaming fun... Not much to add that others haven't said, but I *do* wish he would hurry up on getting the next full novel converted to audiobook. /

Takes place in the 'fade to black' between Bevan's main series "Critical Failures" (brilliant gamergeek genre humor) with the same party of Tim, Dave, Julian, and Cooper. The D6 series are entertaining short stories set in the Caverns and Creatures world. The humor is crude and irreverent...just a heads up. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If you've gotten this far into the series, it's clear you already think dick jokes are funny. Not all the stories are as good as earlier ones, but the Land before Tim alone makes this collection worth while. Go ahead and grab this one, too.
New and exciting ways for Cooper to crap on Dave. My inner 6 year old died and went to heaven. "The Land Before Tim" is worth the purchase alone, but you get 5 more hilarious tales of swords, sorcery, and Dick jokes...
6 more mini-adventures of Tim, Julian, Dave and Cooper, trapped in a fantasy world created by a jerk of a Game Master. From bounty hunting to escaping a dinosaur infested island, the gang looks for booze, gold and a way home.
Get these books if you're a fan of D&D or any RPG. You'll be glad you did.
This set is a great collection of short stories to continue satisfying your Caverns and Creatures cravings. As with all the other books, I laughed and will definitely read it again! I recommend adding the audible audio book, you won't regret it!
